BA4 is very different from the other CertBA papers. Unlike BA1–BA3, it does not involve heavy calculations. Instead, it focuses on concepts, principles, and understanding word-heavy scenarios. You’ll be tested on ethics, corporate governance (45% of the exam), company administration, and business law. ``BA4 was the one paper I had to attempt twice. The first time, I scored 99 marks — just one mark short of passing. Looking back, I realised my exam-taking strategy wasn’t good enough. I’d gotten used to relying on numbers and calculations in other papers, but BA4 required something different: strong comprehension and mastery of corporate governance concepts.

My Advice to Students
Don’t underestimate BA4. Just because it doesn’t have calculations doesn’t mean it’s easier.
Prioritize Corporate Governance — it’s 45% of the exam, and practicing questions here is essential.

Use practice platforms to sharpen your exam strategy:
When revising, go beyond just “reading.” Do lots of practice questions to test your comprehension under exam conditions.
With patience and the right strategy, BA4 is very passable — but only if you treat it as the unique, concept-heavy paper that it is.
